Description

Empathy is the ability to see through the perspective of the other person, try to feel his/her emotions and also communicate avoiding any criticism

Aim

The purpose of this experiential workshop is

• To cultivate empathy examining every day’s life of students at school, at home, outdoors activities or their peers
• To form a cognitive tool for dealing with children’s and teen’s stress factors
• To cope with bullying and manage conflicts
• To facilitate communication
• To help students respect boundaries and set their own
• To focus on the expression of emotions and needs of the students in a way that empowers understanding each other
• To relieve guilt, fear, shame and sadness
• To contribute to student’s mutual solution when conflicts arise and strengthen their problem-solving skills
• To improve students’ digital skills
• To combine contemporary psychology, education and art (Interdisciplinary Education)

For whom

For students of the 4th grade of Elementary School, High School and Lyceum. Parents associations, teachers’ associations, sport clubs, municipalities

Program of the training/ How

The methodology is based on internal mobilization and continuous energy generation through experiential activities, combined with theoretical development and discussion. Experiential exercises and digital learning techniques at group level (presented on a thematic basis )

Growth techniques of Empathy (Scenarios)

•Feelings- Role playing
• Needs-Role-playing
• Storytelling-scenario techniques
• Simulations of events from every day’s life of students at school, at home, during outdoors activities or while entertaining with their peers

• Digital storytelling techniques

Evaluation

Nature & Mindfullness

Mindfulness is the psychological process of purposely bringing one’s attention to experiences occurring in the present moment. Students exercise their ability to focus their attention and to be present. The fact that this project is being implement in our outdoor facilities in nature provides the program with multiplied value.

• To arm students with soft skills about relaxation and concentration

Students are being encouraged to discover and embrace their multi-dimensional self: Talents, difficulties, needs, desires and dreams. The program is formed in a way that can meet the needs of aggressive and shy students at the same time.
